Technotrans' new MD Benton looks at training and service

Peter Benton wants to boost Technotrans' image as "reliable and dependable" by increasing support and training services for its press ancillaries, following his appointment as managing director of the UK arm.

Benton was was made operations director two years ago and succeeds John Stacey as at the top of the UK division.

The 32-staff division is undergoing a restructuring of its service depot with ongoing staff training and the appointment of Paul Massey as service manager at the company.

Benton said: "We want to encourage our customers to undergo training when they purchase the equipment, which will make the product more cost-effective and efficient."

He added that because presses "are getting faster, more automated, more complex and more flexible", printers have to run them to maximum efficiency "to justify that cost and make profit".

The firm's pressroom portfolio includes dampening solution circulation and filtration systems, inking systems temperature control equipment and reverse osmosis systems.
