Tag was previously one of Ogilvy's three repro suppliers, but tendered for the contract in April.
It was able to demonstrate its capabilities through the success of Tag@Comma, its first inplant repro site, which services agency Publicis. It was set up in March 2000 and was awarded PrintWeek Creative Repro Company of the Year 2002.
Tag production director Mark Maguire said: "We literally walked Ogilvy round Tag@Comma to show that in-house can be successful. And it has already seen efficiencies through speed of turnaround and enhanced quality enabled because we're closer to the client, taking out the middleman."
The venture took on existing Tag staff and kit from Turning Point Technologies, including Dalim Twist workflow, drum scanner, film output and Colorbus RIP, as well as DuPont Digital Cromalin MX6.
