The new company, Svecia Engineering, also has a new sister company, Svecia Spares & Services. UK Svecia distributor Registerprint was unaffected by the buyout. Production has continued at SSCs plant in Norsborg, Sweden.
Registerprint has also secured a couple of new sales. Nottingham-based screen specialist Clearpoint Print Services hopes to conquer the large-format PoS market after its investment in a Svecia SAM II with fully automatic squeegee grinder.
The press will be delivered in June and will take the firms investment in Svecia technology to 350,000.
In March the 30-staff firm installed a Harlacher H42-5 automatic screen coating machine capable of handling screens up to 2.25m wide and 2.9m high.
Clearpoint managing director Jim Taylor said: We are one of the few companies capable of producing work that size. It will be used for large PoS work, which it can do without a crease down the middle.
He said the SAM II, which replaces an older Svecia machine, would take the companys turnover beyond the 2m mark.
Registerprint has also installed a Svecia Printmaster at Leicestershire-based Quenby Transfers.
