Darlington Council appoints Acorn for magazine printing
Darlington Borough Council has teamed up with Acorn Web Offset to produce Town Crier, its monthly residents' magazine. The Wakefield-based supplier will print 57,000 runs of the A4, full-colour, 32pp publication.

Integrity sells Economailer to Prolog Print
Integrity Print has announced the sale of its Wolverhampton-based print management business Economailer to Prolog Print Media for an undisclosed sum. Integrity, formerly Bath Business Forms, and Economailer were acquired from Communisis in a £12.8m MBO in July 2008.

Knowledge group launched to aid print managers
A knowledge group, which focuses on marketing services procurement, including print management has been launched by the Procurement Leaders Network (PLN) – an international community for procurement executives. The group is sponsored by HH Print Management.

Telegraph Media stops Wyndeham Pre-Press contract
Telegraph Media Group (TMG) has finished its contract with Wyndeham Press Group's pre-media arm, Wyndeham Pre-Press. TMG confirmed last week that it had cancelled its contract with Wyndeham Pre-Press following a review at the  end of 2008.

Communisis begins consultation over 90 jobs
Communisis has started a consultation with staff relating to a redundancy programme that is expected to lead to around 90 job losses. Chief executive Steve Vaughan told PrintWeek that the reduction, which represents 6% of the company's 1,500-strong workforce, was part of an annual review process and not a "knee-jerk reaction" to the economic downturn.
