SR Communications has won a 1.25m contract for at least 180m worth of scratchcards.
It will manage the printing of 15m cards a month for at least a year. They will be produced four-colour on a web and sheetfed press for Isomatrix, which belongs to Redstone Telecom.
Scratch & Match cards will go into national papers as part of a job the firm won in a tender, which included a trial run of 3m cards.
The scratchcard market is becoming much harder because there are so many players, and competition is tougher, said SR Communications business development manager Matt Spencer. The client was looking at it from a cost-savings point of view.
Two printing companies would handle the task, but he refused to say which ones.
Isomatrix may go pan-European with the cards and we are looking at opportunities that may involve producing and distributing in Europe or printing in the UK and shipping abroad.
Scratchcard prizes include a Porsche Boxster.
SR Communications has 350 staff and a turnover of 13.5m.
