Ice-cream sellers are turning to SR Communications to personalise their menu cards with logos and colour.
SR tied up a deal with Birds Eye Walls after the food firm re-jigged its Carte dOr menu system.
Cards go to department stores, independent shops and restaurants with details of its range of ice cream.
The new cards, which are printed in four colours on a Xerox DocuColor 2060, are branded with colours and logos of the outlet, such as Holiday Inn. "Birds Eye Walls used to have conventionally printed menus but switched to digital because the gummed labels didnt look professional," said Tony Fletcher, board director at SR Communications.
Outlets fax their tailored menu requests to SR. Once the proof has won approval, the menu is printed, gloss laminated on both sides and folded A4 to A5.
The menus are printed on 300gsm paper in volumes of 50 to 1,000 and the job can be finished in five days.
"Response has been good so far," said Fletcher. "Its an elbow in the water for Birds Eye Walls."
