"It cleared customs just a few days before the show opened and was snapped up by Speedlith on the second morning of the event," said Agfa UK Graphic Systems director Laurence Roberts.
The firm opted for the Avalon without seeing a full demonstration of the platesetter at the show.
"When Dave Cross, our Agfa sales specialist, told us about the new Avalon we knew it was right for us," said Derek Worthington, production director of the Manchester repro house.
The 20 plate-per-hour manual loading version that was displayed at DPW will be installed at Speedlith next week.
The Avalon was launched at Print O5 in September.
Speedlith pounces on Avalon
Speedlith has bought the Avalon LF straight from Agfas stand at last weeks Digital Print World, where the platesetter was given its UK debut.
