Paperback printer Mackays of Chatham is keeping the industry guessing on rumours its up for sale.
Managing director Jim Daniels would not confirm that several big firms were keen to buy the company.
"Its always up for sale," he said. "The rumours are there all the time. It could happen but not at the moment. We are not talking to people now."
CPI and St Ives have been bandied as possible buyers. Daniels refused to comment on names or whether he favoured selling.
