Template Configurer is currently in the firms lab, but it expects to be able to start demonstrating the software to customers in the next month and to launch it next year.
According to marketing manager Scott Marienthal, the system will give users the functionality of a bespoke MIS for the price of an off-the-shelf package.
The firm is also further developing its Sales and Marketing Management module (SAMM). Originally intended as a contact management tool, it has grown to become more of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) module. It now has quality assurance features for tracking faults, complaints and compliments.
As part of its efforts with JDF, of which its products are already compliant, Shuttleworth has joined Creos Networked Graphic Production (NGP) project. Marienthal said NGP was really helping to push CIP4 forward.
