The Forum aims to deal with issues affecting the prosperity of the Leicestershire print community, such as rising costs and technological change.
Mukesh Naker, who was joint chair of the event and is company secretary and director of the citys Chatham Printers, said that there had been a lot of positive feedback about marketing the Leicestershire printing industry.
"Leicester was well known as a print centre 25-30 years ago," he said. "We have to reposition it to that premier spot."
The event featured workshops on marketing, sharing supply and purchasing power, and was backed by Business Link Leicestershire, the BPIF, Leicester College and the PGC NTO.
A working group on 27 March will look at creating an action plan from the issues raised at the Forum, and will also decide on a date for its next meeting.
