The Gloucester-based commercial printer has invested 150,000 on a Heidelberg Stahlfolder TH66 4/4 buckle folder, with mobile knife unit, and a Rima compensating stacker for its Muller Martini Bravo S.
"The folder has automatic roller and plate settings and touch-screen control," said bindery manager Brian Clifton. "We're hoping this will improve makereadies."
The folder spend was also driven by the firm's need to boost its 8pp folding capacity. It configured the TH66, which will be installed later this month, with a double-gatefold unit and a second unit (for map folds).
Severnprint will change its shift pattern in January. It has recruited two additional bindery operators and is taking on two more assistants.
