Screen UK claims to have received orders worth over 6m at Drupa including an order from Litho Supplies for eight FlatRite 1050 automatic B2 platesetters worth 1m.
Screen UK claims that the deal represents the single largest CTP order from one distributor and is proof that the UK market for CTP is exploding.
Five of the FlatRites will be driven by the Screen TaigaSpace digital workflow system while the rest driven by Harlequin RIPs.
Screen UK managing director Brian Filler said: This is a huge order for us. Opting for visible light devices rather than thermal technology means you get more for your money.
Steve Dodds, sales director of the Litho Supplies Electronics division echoed his cry. The FlatRite 1050 was chosen for its automation, productivity and cost-effectiveness, said Doods.
The Litho Supplies deal, signed at Drupa, was The company is focusing on workflow together with CTP although it will still sell imagesetters and scanners.
