Litho Supplies placed an order worth 250,000 with HighWater for five Platinum 2218 platesetters with LS62 plate processors at Print UK.
This move followed Agfa's accreditation of the LS62 processor last week.
Litho Supplies' user base in the UK is predominantly in the B3 market. "We have been waiting for Agfa's accreditation for some time," said sales director Steve Dodds.
Litho Supplies has sold two of the five platesetters that it purchased to undisclosed buyers. "We have a lot of confidence in the B3 market and are hoping to sell 40 or 50 Platinums next year," added Dodds.
In one year, HighWater has installed 15 2218s in the UK and is looking to sell about 10 a month in the next year, according to vice president of sales Peter Flynn.
HighWater is also currently working with Mitsubishi on a violet plate.
