RR Donnelley acquires Express Postal Options

Chicago-based RR Donnelley has acquired Express Postal Options (XPO) as it looks to build on its logistics service offering to a global client base.

Located in Torrance, CA. privately held XPO provides international outbound mailing services to pharmaceutical, e-commerce, financial services, information technology, catalog, direct mail and other businesses.

RR Donnelley Group president Dan Knotts told PrintWeek: "Customers are looking to RR Donnelley to provide services across the breadth of the supply chain - from concept to physical or electronic distribution.

"Our logistics offering includes superb resources for domestic and international print-related mailing and much more besides."

"For example, we've been named a Top 100 3PL, or third party logistics provider, arranging shipments of items as varied as pet food, golf clubs, car and tractor parts, vending machines, and even locomotives."

XPO manages outbound mailings to more than 150 countries enabling RR Donnelley to better meet the international needs of catalogers and direct mailers as well as vertical segments such as pharmaceuticals, e-commerce, financial services, and information technology.

Knotts suggested there would be fewchanges in XPO’s operations and staffing following the acquisition. He added: "We're very pleased that so many talented logistics and international mailing professionals have joined RR Donnelley with the acquisition. XPO brought strong management talent to us."
