The Matchprint Digital Halftone Proofer, which is in its third generation, offers users the same RIP, engine and format as the Trendsetter.
Richmond Printers joint managing director, Martyn Kube, said: "Weve got complete data integrity. Matchprint has been calibrated to our presses, so we get a good match on press."
Kube said the company was using about 1,000 KPG Electra Excel thermal plates per month, but expected that to rise to 2,500 "before long".
Zebra opted for Matchprint on its Trendsetter Spectrum Quantum B1 after consultation with clients, who had reservations about digital proofing.
"Matchprint produces a conventionally screened B1 proof, and because of the substrates and imaging technology it is 100% stable. This enables our clients to see credible proofs," said Paul Samuels, Zebra IT systems director.
