Report & Accounts Printer of the Year 2015: Park Communications

Annual reports, like the PrintWeek Awards, come around once a year. And, like last year, Park Communications walked away the winner of this category. Was it the complexity of incorporating six colours, foiling, embossing, spot-gloss UV varnish and the tipped-in foiled dividers for the Jimmy Choo document?

Or did the tactile, laminate-free Lloyd’s report carefully crafted to ensure no finger marking, creasing, cracking or rubbing woo the judges? The final verdict was emphatic: “Superb use of black on uncoated stocks and consistent quality across all four submissions.”

“Reports just arrived, they look fantastic,” was the initial then lasting impression of client Marks & Spencer. The print team in Croydon once again, according to M&S, “pulled out all the stops”. Pulling them out involved printing in six colours, including a swanky metallic shade on 100% recycled paper to deliver 100% satisfaction. “You can almost smell the consistency of this entry,” said judges.

The Royal Royal College of Art (RCA) annual review, like reports for Fresnillo and BBA, helped lift last year’s finalist to the highly commended spot. The East Sussex printer used a black-only cover on Edixion white for a creative edge to the review. Judges hailed the “clever use of varnish and specials”.
