Recycler warns of Govt green law info failure

The Governments handling of new waste-disposal rules could land printers on the wrong side of the law, warns Saxon Recycling.

"It has done nothing to educate the industry," said Saxon Recycling managing director Mick Adams. "When asked, its stock response is 'look on our website'." Printers using 20 tubs of developer a month are not going to keep regular website updates."

Saxon Recycling, which disposes of hazardous chemicals for around 1,000 printers, said many producers of waste were unaware they now had to register with the Environment Agency.

Cambridge-based Saxon has spent 10,000 on consultants and paperwork due to July's changes.
