The future of Heidelbergs fledgling Consumables division HQ in France, which was established earlier this year, is in question.
A source told PrintWeek that the firm is currently debating a restructuring process at its Paris offices.
The source said: Theyre planning to give the regions more power, to manage consumables on a local basis.
Under the top-secret plans, the five regions of North America, South America, Central Europe, Eastern Europe and Asia Pacific would be autonomous to the degree that they could choose local partners to develop local solutions.
However, the source added that all current agreements and contracts would still be valid.
The Consumables division was launched to sell all printing supplies apart from paper. PrintWeeks source said there could be an official announcement towards the end of the year.
