The number of companies working below capacity fell dramatically from 92% in July to 55% in October.
The state of printers order books has also improved with 30% saying that they were better than normal for the time of the year, 42% responding that they were normal and less than a third (28%) saying that they were worse than normal. At the end of the last quarter only 17% said things were better and 33% said things were worse.
Printers also expect to produce more and make more on it. Although respondents gave a negative balance (-5) for the volume of output over the past three months, this soared to +78 for the coming quarter. And while there was a negative balance (-40) for margins on sales for the last quarter, this became +40 for the coming three months.
