PrintWeek is using the giant Drupa exhibition as a launchpad for a new daily online news service.
The site at www.printweek.com will go live on 17 May, the day before Drupa opens. Both Heidelberg and MAN Roland will be making pre-show announcements, and Heidelbergs much-anticipated NexPress will also have its official launch.
"We see this as an important addition to our printed product, which will allow readers to be more up-to-date than ever with all the important happenings in the industry," said PrintWeek editor Jo Francis. "Sometimes its frustrating when we have a fantastic story, such as David Ofeks resignation from CreoScitex, and we know people will have to wait until Friday to learn about it. The online service means PrintWeek readers can be better-informed than ever."
News can either be accessed directly from the PrintWeek website, or delivered by email direct to readers desktops.
A team of PrintWeek journalists will be scouring the show for all the best stories, ensuring a "virtual presence" for UK graphic arts professionals not able to attend the show in person.
