According to research carried out on behalf of just-sites.com the general public still likes to read its news as ink on paper rather than going online for it. Eight out of ten respondents said that they would never swap their inky daily for a web page and only 3% claimed they would pay to receive news via the Internet.
However, the readership of specifically business-oriented publications had a different view. Faced with so many potential magazines and periodicals readers are turning to the web in increasing numbers. One in five business respondents agreed that the Internet is a better way to receive news, primarily because of its speed.
