The former gravure supersite comprises a 58,268sqm factory on a site of around 50 acres on the Estuary Business Park in Speke.

The Bertelsmann-owned company was shut down last year due to declining demand for gravure production.

GB Europe has acquired the site following a competitive bidding process.

The new owner has the option to either use the existing building or develop a logistics unit “of up to approximately 1m sq ft”.

The sale price was not disclosed.

Neil Kirkham, senior director at CBRE, commented: “Having received a significant amount of interest in this site, we are delighted to have concluded this transaction in a five-week period, a real accomplishment in the current market.

“The site has been so widely courted due to its strong location and redevelopment potential, and we look forward to seeing it come to fruition in the coming years.”
