Polestar has appointed Malcolm Robertson as its new group finance director five months after Jim Brown stepped up to take over as chief executive from Tony Rudston.
Robertson joined the group on Monday (30 October) from Thorn Lighting Group, where he was also group finance director.
He had been with the company since May 1994 and was a central figure in its flotation on the London Stock Exchange.
Prior to his spell at Thorn, Robertson was chief finance officer of Lex Service, and he has also held senior positions with-
in Burton Group, Levi Strauss and Texas Instruments.
"Polestar has tremendous potential, which I believe is only now starting to be unlocked, and it's a great opportunity for me," said Robertson.
Polestar said that it had selected the "best candidate" for "one of the most high-level jobs in the industry".
The 46-year-old is the second Polestar main board director to be recruited from outside printing this year after Chris Pavlosky, who joined as the group's then chief operating officer from the brewing trade in February (PrintWeek, 11 February).
