The new machines, the X and XT, denoting the 10th generation of Polar machines, are available from January.
The X version has a 308x233mm colour display, while the top-of-the-range T version has touch-screen controls. The X and XT machines are available in 78cm, 92cm, 115cm, 137cm, 155cm and 176cm widths.
Polar joint managing director Michael Neugart said that the new range could be integrated into any network: With CIP4 and JDF there are too many flies in the bag. This gives the buyer a safe bet, because he knows that they can be integrated to fit to the needs of his plant.
The guillotines have a new knife change, which includes a fine adjustment, OPTIKNIFE, made at the lowest point in the knife-cycle, which the company claims reduces time and extends knife life.
If a knife change is good, then you should get 2,500 cuts per knife. But if its bad, or too low, you might get half that, said Neugart.
Polar has also released the XS version of its 78cm width guillotine, which is an entry-level machine with a 123x68mm monochrome display.
