Pelican's rebirth in full swing

Pelican Press is picking up high-profile work after problems earlier this year.

The Manchester-based B2 specialist has produced a one-off campaign to launch Sonys latest PlayStation 2 game, Guilty Gear X. It printed 180,000 A5 2pp leaflets using its 10-colour Heidelberg Speedmaster 74 press, along with 3,000 A2 posters for the console game on its five-colour press.

In June, Pelican was resurrected by Holdmede after going into liquidation (PrintWeek, 28 June, 2002).

Managing director Anthony Crow said the Sony job was turned around within a very short timescale, with graphics that reflected the depth and quality of those developed for the game itself.
The 3m-turnover firm installed the 1.2m 10-colour press a year ago (PrintWeek, 14 September 2001).
