PaperExchange Europe has developed a product that will allow paper sellers to "bolt on" a transaction facility to their own websites.
Although the company refused to reveal the cost of PEx StoreBuilder, it would be cheaper than building an internet sales facility from scratch, managing director Colin Carroll stated.
"These are paper-specific applications. It is not a core competency for manufacturers that is producing paper, not making websites."
He said there was a big potential market. "Very few companies are taking orders over the internet," he said.
The price consists of a one-off licence fee, cost of integration with existing systems, and PaperExchanges charge for hosting and technical support.
