As well as the monitor proofing software, Ortek ordered a Kodak Magnus 800 platesetter, Prinergy workflow, Kodak Matchprint ink-jet proofing, Staccato screening and Insite software.
PressProof software uses Kodak's MatchPrint Virtual Proofing technology for accurate and consistent colour proofing on certified LCD monitors. It allows users to select the surface for comparison with press samples.
The system integrates with Kodak's Prinergy workflow, combining pre-press and proofing management, and can operate as an extension to InSite software to allow online communication at each stage of the production cycle.
Ortek managing director Craig Morris (pictured right) said the new kit would help his firm reduce lead times and improve efficiency.
"As we pride ourselves on being forward thinking, we are constantly investing to make sure we stay on the cutting edge of technology none of our equipment is more than threeyears old," he said.
"The Kodak PressProof software is, I believe, the future of print, and when it came to looking for a platesetter, the main requirement was more productivity. We're extremely pleased."
