Oriel Printing orders new Speedmaster CX102

Oriel Printing has invested 2m in a Heidelberg Speedmaster CX102 seven-colour press with coater to boost productivity and as a replacement for an older press.

The new B1 Speedmaster will complement an existing Speedmaster CD 102 seven-colour press and replace a six-colour CD102 machine at the Hull-based trade printer.

It will enable the £3.5m-turnover company to apply primers, spot colours and seals, as well as UV aqueous and specialist coatings. The machine also features a non-stop feeder and delivery, along with multiple coating system that enables users to switch easily between effects with minimal downtime.

Oriel Printing believes the new press will enable it to increase its turnover by 10% over the next year.

Managing director Richard Simms said: "The technology is great and we have trust in the service and support that Heidelberg offers.

"Features such as Intellistart, Axis Control and Color Assistant Pro will help to reduce our start-up material waste and underline our emphasis on lean production."
