The company bought two Heidelberg CD 102 dedicated UV presses, a seven- and a six-colour, both with coaters. The kit also incorporates extended delivery and interdeck drying capability between every unit.
Oriel is aiming to expand its UV work, printing onto plastics and board. The company has invested 1.5m on its new site, which is due for completion by the end of the year.
Oriel Printing has a turnover of 3.5m, which it plans to increase with the investments in new kit and premises.
"We knew we had to evaluate everything on the market and I had to stay dispassionate because this is a major decision and we have to live with it for the next few years," said Chris Holmes, UV division director at Oriel.
"Staying with Heidelberg means the changeover is easy for our operators."
