Optimation cuts trim waste costs

Optimation, a Derby-based press and press ancillary engineering firm has developed a low cost machine for handling trim waste.

Suitable for use on presses and rewinders the Oscillating Trim Rewinder uses a unique torque control function that allows it to match the speed of the machine it is attached to.

The firm claims that the coreless machine, which can handle waste from 1mm to 240mm wide uses much less energy than suction waste extraction systems and creates more compact waste. The oscillating design allows it to handle 30,000m long reels of waste much more than rival reel waste machines. It also said at 4,000 it was 1,000-3,000 cheaper.
