The system, which is based on a Roland ink-jet printer, will also be aimed at users of thermal imaging systems that want to avoid hazardous waste costs and the high cost of replacing thermal heads.
Openshaw sales support manager Geoff Stephens said the company would embark on a two-week roadshow across the UK to demonstrate the new machine, which has already been sold to several screen printers.
The Openshaw JetSet uses Agfa SelectJet media, and has three settings outputting at 1.5m2, 3m2 and 4m2 per hour.
When the printer is not being used for film output it can be used to produce colour proofs with the same dot shapes and angles.
The price of 24,950 for the 53in model includes a consumables starter kit, installation, on-site training and first-year service contract. A 63in model is also available.
The Openshaw Gold online consumables ordering system has seen considerable growth since its inception two years ago, according to Stephens, with 25% of its consumables sales now being ordered through the website.
"It's an additional and more convenient way for customers to place orders. We have tried to make its appeal as broad as possible," he said.
