The firm also hopes to develop a new high-end colour printer by next year.
Ocs vice president of software and professional services, Konrad Sommer, said the company was moving globally into integrated software development, focusing on output management, pre-press tools, archiving and printer fleet management.
Sommer declined to reveal any more details about the new colour product, which the firm aims to launch at its Open House at Poing in Germany next February.
Development work was also progressing in ink-jet technology, where Oc saw the potential for growth in direct image processing, he said.
Sommer joined Oc less than four months ago. He previously headed a software development and JDF programme at Heidelberg.
Oc also plans to move 160 staff from its Venlo facility and transfer production to sites in the Czech Republic, (PrintWeek 10 July), and China. It will move some production for its lower-end models but final assembly will stay at Venlo.
