Nixon joins the Watford-based office of KBA on Monday (15 March) and will succeed George Kendal who is winding down towards retirement. Kendal will now focus on his home territories of Scotland and Ireland.
KBA UK managing director Christian Knapp said he contacted Nixon 24 hours after learning he had left Creo in January. There isnt that much talent out there and when it comes up youve got to jump on it. When Mark came up, for me it was a very straightforward decision, Knapp said.
Nixon had been with Creo, and formerly Scitex, for eight years. He left in January to investigate other opportunities both within and outside of the printing industry, but he said the KBA role was very attractive once hed heard about the companys plans for Drupa.
The chance to sell the Karat DI machine, which Nixon was involved with during its development at Scitex, also interested him, he said.
