The Nottingham firm had gone for the winding-up option after being hit by 6,245 of unpaid bills from the Tipton packaging printer (PrintWeek, 26 June).
The Official Receiver has now passed the case to its Birmingham office, which will proceed with the winding-up order.
Newey director Nicholas Humes also faced a winding-up petition against Midlands Publishing Holdings, his holding group, on Wednesday (9 July) at Birmingham County Court after PrintWeek went to press. Neweys former owners, William Davenport and Danny Worley, were behind the petition. The size of the outstanding sum that led to the petition is unknown.
Administrative receivers from PricewaterhouseCoopers were appointed at Newey Print on 4 June (PrintWeek, 19 June).
