Xeikon has appointed Sven Verghote as UK general manager to head the sales, marketing and servicing of Xeikon's monochrome digital presses.
He has been taken on to increase sales of the former Nipson Varypress, 7000 and 918CF presses which were rebranded under the Xeikon name at Drupa.
Targeted at data centres, book publishers, transactional printers, direct mail houses, and security and barcode applications, the Xeikon presses will compete with IBM's Infoprint, Xerox's DocuTech, and Oce's Demandstream series.
Verghote, in charge of 35 staff at offices at Heathrow, has replaced Ian Sadler who is now national customer services manager.
Verghote has worked for Xeikon since 1997 as product and marketing manager on a range of development projects and product applications.
Xeikon's marketing and communications manager, Jef Stoffels, said: "He combines a strong technical and sales background along with expertise at building and developing teams of people with different skills."
