MRM outlays 4.5m on twin webs

Direct mail printer Moore Response Marketing (MRM) has invested 4.5m in twin web finishing lines and a Harris M1000 press, boosting its production capacity to up to 1.5m mailings per day.

The recently installed twin finishers have been customised by US firm Jet Web to work in synchronisation, and can personalise the outer and inner sides of an envelope in a one-stage process.

"From a commercial point of view, it's a timely investment in regards to the Vertis Leicester capacity leaving the UK market," said Eamonn Burke, sales director of Moore's UK operation.

MRM's new twin web has joined its five existing Jet Web finishing lines at its facility in Erembodegem near Brussels. It will enable the plant to process up to three tons of paper per hour and print marketing and transactional messages on the same run.

"The twin web can produce high levels of personalisation over both webs," said Burke. "It enables us to produce totally enveloped mailings at high speeds."
