The company entered into a Corporate Voluntary Arrangement with insolvency practitioner Philip Roberts in September last year.
However, an anticipated upturn in the company's fortunes has failed to emerge and managing director Mike Irving has taken the decision to close its doors.
A meeting of creditors has been called for 15 June, at which it is expected that Miter Press will be placed into liquidation.
The company ceased production on 29 May with the remaining 14 staff made redundant.
Irving told PrintWeek that this was the end for the business.
He said: "Miter has ceased trading and there will be no pre-packs or phoenixing. My reasons for liquidating are the downturn in business brought about by the present economic situation.
"This has led to us being unable to sustain a viable business model going forward."
