The 40in four colour solvent printer/cutter prints at up to 17.3sqm per hour on substrates less than 1mm thick.
This aspect is important for the company which specialises in printing for breweries and beverage companies, producing branding for pump clips, optics, panels and labels.
With a fleet digital flatbed machines, the company can print on many substrates, including brass. However, being able to print on thinner materials with the Mimaki means the company can produce large banners and signs as well as produce less expensive items such as cheap pump clips for the growing cask ale market, where branding is changed more frequently.
Micro Matic print manager Paul Welsh said: "This is a significant move for Micro Matic. Not only can we produce large volume prints on much thinner materials, but we can also achieve much quicker turnarounds for our customers. Having the added feature of cutting means we can now print and cut designs to virtually any shape, quickly, easily and in one operation.
"Micro Matic is now a one stop shop for motivating point of sale."
The Mimaki was supplied to the 60-staff company by Granthams.
