Mega-gravure deal may stall

The mega-gravure merger proposed by Bertelsmann, Axel Springer and Gruner+Jahr could be delayed, after the German cartel office requested a ruling on the proposal.

The European Commission was to rule on the merger this week, but the referral bid will take a further two weeks, and may add four months to the process.

The combined entity would have a 25% market share in European gravure.

Polestar has made its own submission to the EC about the deal.
