The new machine, which follows last year's installation of a Heidelberg Speedmaster SM 52-5, will be delivered to the six-staff company's Glasgow site next month.

While many companies across the industry are dealing with decreasing run lengths as specialisation increases, Cowan managing director Craig Cowan said his company has experienced an increase in demand for runs of 20,000-plus sheets.

He said: "This is in part due to the five-colour, but also because the customer base has grown in confidence in dealing with our team."
