The 15-staff firm, which has a turnover of over 2m and also trades as Digicol, is currently installing a secondhand Indigo Platinum press. The spend follows the installation in January of a Fujifilm Luxel Vx-9600 B1 platesetter.
Managing director Nigel Gill said the digital press would be run by existing repro staff. Work from current clients will fill the extra capacity, he said.
In pre-press, LEA has signed a plate deal for Fujifilm's Brillia LP-NV violet plates. It previously used Brillia LH-PIE thermal plates, to serve three litho presses in the firm's press hall.
Gill added that the investments had come on the back of the acquisition of print firm Robert Pearce last September.
