Edale, Gallus, Mark Andy and Nilpeter were among the established suppliers fielding servo-enhanced offset and flexo equipment, while HP Indigo and Xeikon spearheaded the digital alternative.
There was also brisk interest in dedicated pre-press and workflow systems notably from Agfa, Artwork Systems, Creo, DuPont, Esko-Graphics and KPG.
Creos European sales director, David McBeth, said the firm had signed orders totalling more than 550,000 (e800,000) within the first two days, including a narrow-web 2630 flexo CTP system valued at around 250,000 to an undisclosed UK printer.
Tamar Labels ordered the UKs second HP Indigo ws4000 press (PrintWeek, 28 August), which managing director Alan Jones said would facilitate double-shift work at the companys 1.7m-turnover Tavistock operation.
Nilpeter recorded over 17 press sales, including an unanticipated eight-colour MO3300 for CCL Labels in Leeds for around 1m.
