Kodak Polychrome Graphics has launched a new imagesetting film because it believes there is still a strong market for conventional film and plate.
Kodak Premier Recording Film PRD is a red sensitive hard dot film, which KPG says has higher image quality, faster processing and uses less chemistry.
"The conventional film market is not dead," said KPG UK film marketing manager David Croft. "In the current climate investment in new technology is slowing down, meaning that conventional methods will be used for some time."
KPG is also launching an Integrated Fixer Management system for the Kodamatic v5 processor. It is an electrolytic silver recovery system that can be integrated into the processor and reduces fixer replenishment by up to 50%.
