Kolbus calls time on DA 36 casemaker

Kolbus has finally pulled the plug on a 37-year-old legend.

The Kolbus DA 36 family of casemakers has gone out of production with the 208th and final DAS coming out of the factory.

The original double-headed casemaker, the DA 36, was produced in 1967. A total of 1,218 were built before the range was withdrawn in 1995. The larger DAS was launched in 1976, with production running continuously until now.

The machines were known for their lengthy make-ready times and ability to handle a wide range of cloths, and will be missed by a generation of casemakers.

Kolbus will continue to supply spares and service.
