Jedi Jim turns from print pro to public speaker

Jim Eastwood, sales and marketing manager at Antrim-based W&G Baird, has found fame after making it to the final of the BBC's The Apprentice.

The series climaxed last weekend, when ‘Jedi Jim’ – famed for his persuasive sales patter and liberal use of blarney – managed to trip over his own clichés during the final grilling. Asked by Margaret Mountford to describe himself without clichés or mixed metaphors, he responded with the classic line: "I’m someone who does exactly what it says on the tin." Uber-geek Tom Pellereau was the eventual winner. Eastwood now has his own website jimeastwood.co.uk along with thousands of followers on Twitter, and is promoting his services as a public speaker and motivational sales consultant, but he remains in post at the 150-year-old Antrim business for the time being at least.
