The new press is expected to be delivered in mid May and will fulfil jobs currently produced on the Dublin printer's Sakurai 566 SD and Ryobi B3 five-colour machines. 

The 26-staff company has specified the machine with Prinect Pressroom Manager workflow and switched to Saphira pressroom consumables in an extensive Heidelberg sweep.

“We have new business coming in and are keen to explore new markets,” said director Kieran Finegan. “This new machine will enable us to widen our business and introduce special finishing effects through the coater.

“Another convincing factor was the price of the consumables, which we found to be agreeable compared to the other options we explored.

“This will be our first press with such fast makeready times and high speeds, plus a coater which means our customers will enjoy even faster turnaround times and a variety of surface coating options.”

The new Speedmaster will run alongside an HP Indigo digital press. This latest investment strengthens the firm's association with Heidelberg; it also runs two Polar guillotines and two Stahlfolders.

Business Press said the CX 75 would improve the company's flexibility by taking substrates from 80gsm to 0.6mm with minimum changeover.

Its capabilities, serving a client base across Ireland, include inserting and latex gluing and die-cutting. According to Finegan, further investment is on the cards in folding with Muller Martini machines under consideration.
