The IPIA is setting out to assist the print industry with overcoming critical market challenges at its Autumn Conference later this month.

The theme for this year’s event, which will take place on 31 August at The MTC in Coventry, will be ‘Rising to the Challenge: Finding Opportunities to Grow and Thrive’.

Matthew Ruff, chair of the IPIA events subcommittee, commented: “The theme for this year’s event encapsulates an issue that is at the very top of business leaders’ mind’s across the UK print industry: with so many obstacles to growth present in the market, how can I grow my business?

“Rising to the Challenge will provide attendees with insights from print service providers and entrepreneurs that are successfully negotiating these hurdles – and which have not just identified growth opportunities – but are actively and successfully exploiting them.”

The day will feature inspirational and educational speakers, networking opportunities, and a mini-expo, plus food and refreshments. At the end of the day there will also be networking drinks.

Speakers will include Lance Hill from Eight Days a Week Print Solutions, Anthony Rowell from Tradeprint, Elizabeth Bowerman from Stephen Austin, Patrick Headley, who recently announced his retirement from Go Inspire Group, and Mike Hughes from Latcham, with more to be revealed in the coming weeks.

The conference will also host an interactive panel discussion called ‘Business Growth – By Luck or Design?’. This session will see a panel of printers, agencies, and finance experts discuss and debate whether there is a formula for business growth that can be identified, or whether it is more down to being in the right place at the right time.

The panel, who will also answer questions from the audience, will include Jamie Nelson from Compass Business Finance, Simon Cooper from Solopress, Lucy Swanston from Nutshell Creative, Anthony Thirlby from Culverlands Press, and Sarah Kilcoyne-Guilliam from Kingsbury Press.

Supported by a raft of industry manufacturers and suppliers, the conference will also feature an expo and networking hub.

Ruff added: “Critically, attendees will be able to find new opportunities to help grow their business and provided with direction to help it thrive in the long-term.”

Tickets for IPIA/BAPC members cost £85, while non-member tickets are £120 – this includes all food and refreshments and can be booked at ipia.org.uk/ac23.
