IP3 launches training

An introductory course on paper, print and publishing, which will start in October is, one of the first initiatives from the IP3, the recently merged Institutes of Paper, Printing and Publishing.

The 10 day course, taking one day per week over 10 weeks, will be taught at three locations LCC in London, Huddersfield University and the National Printing Skills Centre in Leicester. Each site will take around 10 students per course. The course will run three times per year in February, June and October.

IP3 is in talks to extend the locations available to Glasgow and Dublin.

Students completing the 950 course receive an IP3 certificate and will gain entry to the IP3 at AIP3 grade.

Visits to a paper mill, printer and publisher are included in the course, which is marked by continual assessment and written assignments.
