The 9220 incorporates highlight colour and follows the installation of the VarioStream 9210 at Coventry-based Inkfish last year. The machine will be used to produce high volume work such as financial statements and payment reminders.
According to Inkfish chief operating officer Steve Garbett, the 9220 will cut costs by reducing the use of pre-printed stock, while adding impact through the use of colour.
A three-colour VarioStream 9230 was demonstrated at Print 05 in Chicago earlier this month and will be shown at Oc's open house in Poing, Holland from 27 to 31 March. Oc is developing four-colour technology for the 9000 series.
