Independent Paper sets accreditation target for all stock

Independent Paper has revealed plans to achieve accreditation for all its stock within the year, after its flagship brand Amadeus was awarded PEFC certification.

Part of merchant group Denmaur Papers, the company has also been awarded Chain of Custody for both PEFC and FSC.

Group product manager Paul Cassidy said: "The Amadeus grade is extremely popular with printers for its excellent ink lift and runnability, and the PEFC accreditation gives it a mark of environmental strength to add to its qualities."

The grade is produced at Burgo's Ardennes mill in Belgium – an integrated mill that has ISO 14001 and EMAS environmental accreditations.

Cassidy said: "The mill has some of the best environmental and social responsibility objectives in Europe and we are proud to associate ourselves with these aspects.

"Our aim is to have all of our supplying mills to a similar high standard and have all the stock ranges PEFC- or FSC-accredited within the next year."

The next step for Amadeus is to have a 50% FSC-accredited recycled grade added to its product range, which is expected to happen with the next month.

Amadeus is a high quality triple-coated paper, available in weights from 90-400gsm in sheets and 90-200gsm in CutStar reels.
